Whiffin Spit Christmas Tree

Categories: British Columbia and Out and About.

Whiffin Spit in Sooke, is a favourite walk of ours while visiting Vancouver Island, British Columbia. We are spending Christmas with out family in Langford this year.  Even though it is Christmas we are still doing lots of touristy things. Each year one of the trees along Whiffin Spit is decorated for the season.  Decorations are saved each year by wonderful volunteers and rehung the following year.  Anyone can add a decoration to the tree. Snowfolks & Snowflakes

Categories: Christmas.

~ My decorating ideas are about snow this week.  Snowfolk and snowflakes.  The links will take you back to the original posts. The snowman hat makes a cute table centrepiece or display item.  It is easily make from a large can, some cardboard, some spray paint and ribbon to decorate. Beads and Buttons for Decorating

Categories: Christmas.

~ December is here and we are getting closer and closer to the holiday season.  Have you started decorating yet?  Here are some of my favourite things made with buttons and beads.  I’m into simple decorating with lots of recycling where possible. These homemade ornaments will add sparkle and glitter to your decorating.  I started with solid ornaments (colour didn’t matter) and covered them with pearls and beads.  Hang them by the lights on your tree and they will glitter and sparkle. I had lots of fun making these button trees after finding them at a craft sale a couple of years

The 12 Birding Days of Christmas

Categories: Birds and Christmas.

~ The camera is always on hand to capture the feathered lens friends in the garden, down by the bay or driving along.  Christmas carols are being played everywhere now and just to shake things up a little bit I’m sharing some of favourite photos of birds with my rendition of the 12 birding days of Christmas.  Singing along or humming along is allowed. On the first day of birding my camera snapped for me … a cardinal in a bare tree and then continuing on … On the second day of birding my camera snapped for me 2 swans
