2sDay Cardinals

It’s 2sDay and time for photos of 2 of the same thing.  This week it is my favourite bird – the cardinal – the male and female together.

Enjoy.

Love the cardinal photos, especially the last one, the male’s wings open. Great capture! I hear them up at the tops of the trees, but seldom see any close enough for a good shot.

I hope you’re all dug-out now! At least we’re not on the east coast right now. LOL.

    • The last photo is one of my favourites too. We get a few pairs of them throughout the year visiting the feeders in the garden.
Big piles of snow on the sides of the roads and in the parking lots. But yes, thank goodness you didn’t get what the Maritimes are getting. It’s actually a nice sunny day here today and the temperatures are going a bit above 0 Celsius.

  2. Oh I love the cardinals, my favourite too. Yo have some great shots Linda. Enjoy.

Lovely photos! We are just starting to get cardinals at the feeders along with some other varieties of birds.
    Have a good day!

    • The cardinals are year round visitors in our garden. I love how the red male stands out so much against the white snow. Thanks for stopping by.

  4. Would love a bird like that stunning red cardinal on my feeders, could you send one across the pond please 🙂

  6. Beautiful! I love cardinals. We really haven’t seen many birds around here lately…I think they’ve found a more sheltered location.

  8. Great “two” shots. I got a new seed feeder that has a larger roof so the seeds don’t get wet, but no one has come by this winter, not even my song sparrow. I have seen the little Pacific Wren off and on, but it seems to be only a ground feeder. I hate to put food down and attract squirrels. – Margy

Hello, pretty captures of the cardinal couple. They are lovely birds.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

  13. Extraordinary!! I too have the cardinal as my all time favorite. Both genders. The female is just as attractive as the male in her dapper silver gown.

Thank you so much for sharing your link to this wonderful post for us birders at I’d Rather B Birdin’. I look forward to more from you when you can.
