Hummingbirds in the Garden

What a delight to watch the ruby throated hummingbirds visit the garden.
They announce their arrival with a buzz around your head ...
and flit from flower to flower and as quick as they arrived they leave.
They will investigate all the red flowers ... and even some of other colours. 
I've started growing red canna close to one of the feeders along with other flowers that will attract them.
They were even checking out the oriole feeder hanging on a trellis covered with morning glories.

   

These are photographs that I took of a ruby throated hummingbird at one of my feeders.
They come in to feed at certain times everyday.
When I am watering the garden they love to come and enjoy the mist from the hose. 
I make my own mixture of 4 parts water to 1 part sugar and change it regularly.
DO NOT add any red food colouring.
There is red on the feeder and on the many flowers in the garden.
This feeder is situated in the middle of a large clump of mallows.
