Covered coathangers

You need plastic coathangers, 1 metre of material, (which is enough for 5 coathangers), quilt batting and trim for the bottom edge.

Trace the coathanger on paper to get a pattern.  Add about ¼ inch seam allowance all around the outside of the pattern.

Cut 2 pieces of fabric and 1 piece of quilt batting.  Put right sides of fabric together, quilt batting on top, and stitch from top down each side.  Leave an opening in the top so that the hook of the coathanger can fit through.  Turn cover right side out and press with iron.  Press fold along bottom. Add coathanger, pushing the hook carefully through the opening at the top.  Pin on enough trim to fit bottom and stitch closed.

You can add some extras to the hanger.  On one I stitched an artificial rose.  You could add a pocket and insert some potpourri.  Instead of stitched the bottom you could close it with velcro and then it becomes a 'secret hiding place' to store items.

Make some braided coathangers.
