A Colourful Coverup
Recently we took the plunge and purchased an SLR camera. The strap was rough on the neck so I decided to make a cover to go over it. Plus it had the camera name printed in big letters at both ends. Now I can't do anything about the manufacturers name on the camer but I can and did do something about the big name on the strap. I made a camera strap using embroidery thread and a crochet hook. There isn't much use in my writing out the pattern as I'm sure camera straps are different widths and lengths. Basically you need to crochet a chain that will go around your strap and then do a couple of rows of double crochet and test the fit. You might have to pull out the stitches and try a couple of times to get the right fit. And once you do continue on with rows of double crochet till you get to the desired length. Join together (right sides facing in), and then turn the tube inside out and slide onto your camera strap. It sure feels a lot softer on the neck than the rough hard strap that was loaded with camera advertising. Perhaps it will be a conversation starter while I'm out taking photos and I'll meet some more people that appreciate nature and are a little crafty too.
