Magnetic Bookmarkers
This little
bookmarker is great for marking your place at the top of the page, or
can be used on the side of the book to mark part way down the
page. No more bookmarkers slipping out of the book so you
lose your place.

If you love
reading like I do you need lots of bookmarkers. This is a
simple idea you can make with a simple graphic editing program, some
of your own photos, some tag board, and some magnetic strip.
You need to
create you image about the size of 5 cm. x 10 cm. (2 inches by
4 inches). However you could make it any size you want
too. I'm going to try a long one.
After printing
and cutting out the bookmark, stick 2 small pieces of magnetic strip
to each end, making sure they connect when you fold it over.
Then you are
ready to use your bookmarker in your favourite book. Fold it
over the page and let the magnets stick together and presto your page
is marked. If you are part way down a page and need to
stop reading, you can use the bookmarker on the side of the page to
indicate where you stopped.
These make great
little gifts to give with a book, or to tuck inside a card for
birthdays or special days.

Here is one that I have made
that you can print out and try for yourself. You can either put
your mouse over the image and left click and choose the print option,
or you can save it to your computer to print later.
To ensure the
bookmarkers last longer you could laminate them before adding the magnets. |

These little
bookmarkers can also be made from old greeting cards.
Choose the picture you like, trace around the template and cut
out. You cut out a template to the size you want, I used
5 cm. by 10 cm. (2 inches by 4 inches). You might have to
change the size depending on the photo on the part of card you
want. Trace around your template, cut it out. On
the inside I scored where the fold would go before
folding. Using the peel and stick magnets, cut off 2
pieces, one for each end of the inside. To be sure they matched
up when folded, I stuck on the first piece, peeled off the backing
and stuck the second piece on top of the first piece and then folded
and pressed. What a quick and simple craft to make. Be
careful that the card isn't too thick else the peel and stick magnets
won't be strong enough to hold it together around the page in your book.
