A round dish cloth
This is my version of a round dish cloth pattern. If you choose to share this pattern with a crafting group or mailing list, please include a link to my website for credit. Thanks. You need a 5 mm crochet hook and approx. 50 grams of cotton yarn.
Round 1 - Ch 6, join with slip stitch to make ring. Round 2 - Ch 3 (first dc), 8 dc in ring, joing last to first with slip stitch. Round 3 - Ch 3, dc in same stitch, 2 dc in each dc around ring, should have 18 dc when finished. Round 4 - Ch 3, dc in same stitch, 2 dc in each dc, join last to first with slip stitch, should have 36 dc when finished Round 5 - Ch 5 (first dc and 2 chain), *skip next dc, dc in next dc, ch 2* repeat to end, join last to first with slip stitch Round 6 - slip stitch to next chain 2 space, ch 3 (first dc), 2 dc in same space, dc in next dc, *3 dc in next chain 2 space, dc in next dc* repeat to end, join last to first with slip stitch
Round 7 - Ch 3 (first
dc), dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc, *dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next
dc* repeat to end, join last to first with slip stitch Round 8 - Edging row, either - sc all around the edge, -or make small shell stitches (3 dc) *slip stitch in next dc, skip 2 dc, 3 dc in next stitch, skip 2 dc, slip stitch in next dc* repeat to end -or make larger shell stitches (5 dc)
I do not claim this pattern to be absolutely perfect, but those that crochet on a regular basis will be able to figure it out and adjust where necessary. I'm better at doing crochet than writing down a pattern - as my Craftpal Sandyann found out. Thanks for pointing out the error of my ways.
I've been knitting up all the odds 'n ends of cotton yarn and making multi-coloured dish cloths. This is a basic pattern ... cast on 4 stitches, k 2, yo, k to end ... continue till you have 40 stitches ... k1, k2tg, yo, k2tg, k to end ... continue till you have 4 stitches left ... cast off
Make a towel ring holder. Make a pot holder towel. Make a dishcloth scrubbie.
