Thoughts on Gardening:

When you plant a garden you plant happiness.

If friends were flowers, I'd pick you.

Time is nature's way of keeping everything from happening at once.

Scatter seeds of kindness wherever you go.

Step Ladder Planter

2006

Turn an old wooden step ladder into a plant stand by screwing pots onto the rungs.

The pots are screwed onto the ladder so that they don't fall off in the wind or if an inquisitive squirrel should decided to climb the ladder.

The base of the ladder is pushed into the ground to make it more secure.

I change the planting in the pots each year.

2007

Here is the old ladder in 2010.  The pots that I originally had on the rungs of the ladder cracked and needed replacing.  I wanted to somehow put the pots on the ladder without fastening them down so that I could move them around from time to time.

So it was time to get my brain working and the "old and improved wooden ladder" project was created.   My husband got some wood (from another project), his drill and long screws (in case I change my mind again) and his trusty level and he created me some bigger shelves.

Now I can display more than one pot per rung and also add some other pieces of garden whimsy.  And the best part is I can change it around whenever I feel like doing a little re-decorating.
