Poppy - Papaver Orientale

a plant that spreads quickly in the garden, a lovely early spring bloomer

hairy foilage appears early in the spring and once the plant has bloomed the foilage dies away

seed pods can be left on the plant to self sow or to feed the birds, or can be cut off and left to dry to put in flower arrangements

sow seeds after the last frost of the season, germination is from 10 to 20 days, seedlings do not transplant well

prefers sunny areas and well drained soil
