O is for Ottawa

Alphabe-Thursday is up to O this week.  I’ve been sharing blooms from my gardens but this week I’m sharing some of the gardens and planters around Ottawa.  It is so nice to look at flowers in bloom, especially when a winter storm is moving through our area today.

One of our most favourite places to visit is Ottawa, Canada’s capital city.  It is only a 3 hour drive away from us and besides all the historical buildings, the Rideau Canal, the museums, and the Byward Market the city puts out gorgeous displays of blooms in the gardens and in the huge planters.

I love the huge planters throughout the Byward Market, Sparks Street and busy walkways.

These lovely planters show that you can have colourful blooms with no gardens around.

A variety of plants in included in each planter.  I love the mix of all the greens with a little splash of colour here and there.

What an unusual shaped planter.  I think I’ve got planter envy!

We are looking forward to returning to Ottawa this year.  If you are lucky enough to visit Ottawa, be sure to check out the lovely gardens and planters.

I’m sharing with Alphabe-Thursday.
