Going Round in Circles

Categories: Crochet.

The idea had been mulling around in my mind for ages, time to think outside of the box (or square) and get into the round. I’ve been making crochet circles of different shapes and I’ve put them all together into my latest ‘purse’onality project. The rest of my crochet bags are either made with granny squares or stripes, so it was time for a change.  My bags are always lined, done at the end of the project.  This time I made the bag backwards, starting with the lining and the crochet strip that would hold it all together. This

I’ve Got More ‘Purse’onality

Categories: Crochet.

I recently finished another tote bag with some of the green yarn that was left over from the latest afghan.  This is a cross body bag, great for when I’m out walking.  It was made using 4 shades of green Loops & Thread Impeccable yarn. I use the pattern from Trend Setting Totes.  It’s a favourite of mine and I’ve made a few of the Jaunty Shells pattern.  Some were given as gifts but the latest ones were for me.  I love co-ordinating my bags to my outfits.  I made one in black and greys last Fall.  I’ve also got an all

Can You Have Too Much ‘Purse’onality?

Categories: Crochet.

I finished this bag in greys, white and black awhile ago. I love crochet bags and I now have quite a collection.  It seems when ever I want to use up yarn I end up making another bag. This pattern is for a bag made out of granny squares a few years ago.  It’s called Inga’s crocheted bag.  I just tweaked it a bit and took out the squares that formed the bottom.  In total you need 13 granny squares and then some yarn to join them together and made the straps.  It is great for using up odd bits and

Grey Shades of ‘Purse’onality

The Crafty Side of me has been busy since the weather turned cooler.  This is a project that I’ve had completed for a couple of weeks, just never got around to posting about it till now.  I have quite a collection of bags that have all been crocheted.  Black and grey have never been my choice of colours till recently.  It all started with a grey skirt I bought awhile ago. Which led to the purchase of a black and grey top … and then grey pants … and then a light grey sweater.  The reason for new clothes is

I Like ‘Purse’onality

Categories: Crochet.

As soon as it starts to cool down I start looking for some projects to make.  The skies are a little grey as the rain falls down and my crochet projects are a little grey too.  So far I’ve started two new bag patterns, both based on old favourites.  I don’t use any bags/purses that are store bought but have ones with a little ‘purse’onality.  I’ve also made many bags to give away as gifts.  One that just got started is a granny square bag in black, dark gray, light grey and white. I found this cute pattern for a

Kitty Bag

Categories: Crochet.

With the chilly evenings settling in I find myself by a cozy fire with my knitting or crochet in my hand.  I’ve also been doing more reading.  A series that I like is by Maggie Sefton and they are knitting mysteries.  I’m just starting Cast on, Kill Off, which is the 10th one in the series. The cute little pouch and the Hallowe’en bracelet have been completed.  One of the yoga socks has been finished and I’m ready to cast on the second sock. I just finished the round kitty face bag which is for our granddaughter’s birthday at the
