A favourite in our house is banana bread. It doesn’t get made as often as when the three girls lived at home, but every now and then the bananas get too ripe and it is time to make some more. So today the house was filled with the delicious smells of baking. This is an recipe from my mother so I have no idea where it originated from. We just know it tastes good. Banana bread recipe originally from my mother, 50 years ago, the original source is not known. Ingredients: 13/4 cups sifted flour 2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/3 cup shortening 2/3 cup of sugar 2 eggs, unbeaten 1 cup mashed bananas, 3 medium Directions: Heat oven to 350 degrees Grease loaf pan or line with parchment paper Mix shortening, sugar and eggs with medium speed of mixer, about 4 minutes till light and fluffy Beat in flour, sifted with baking powder, soda, salt alternately with mashed bananas until smooth Turn into
