Removable Hanger Covers

~ Over the long and hot summer I did some crochet sitting in the shady spots in the garden.  One of the most popular posts on my site is the crochet covered coat hangers and it seems no matter the time of year folks are always hunting for this pattern.  I decided to change the pattern up a bit this time and make them removable with ribbon or velcro. I made the two halves of the pattern, a printable version can be found here. A visitor to my site  mentioned ages ago that she did her own adjustment to the pattern to make them removable.

Covered Hangers

Here is another way of covering plastic coathangers that I created.  This is a simple crochet method and doesn’t take long at all to complete.  The fiddly part is joining it around the hanger, especially where the hooks are and where the corners are.   I decided to leave the hanger hook free so that it hangs better in the closet.  For this hanger cover I used a variegated Red Heart yarn and a 5 mm crochet hook. Crochet Covered Coathangers

~ I have a huge collection of coloured, plastic coat hangers and wanted a way to cover them.  I’ve seen a few different versions of this hanger and have adjusted the pattern I was given to suit myself. A lovely lady at a flea market shared a pattern with me several years ago. I hadn’t seen this pattern in any crochet booklets but I was sure it must be printed somewhere and thanks to website visitors I now know the sources.
