Kids Fingerless Mitts

I recently knit 2 pair of fingerless mitts for the grandkids out west.  They saw Granny wearing hers each day we were there and wanted some for themselves.  I wrote up a pattern that was scaled down from the adult size mitts.  I had also knitted leg warmers for our granddaughter and made the fingerless mitts similar in pattern that part was done in stocking stitch and the remainder in ribbing. The Grape Fizz purple yarn was used for the leg warmers and mitts and a Blue Rainbow was used for the other. Both used 3.25 or 3.5 mm needles

Knitting Fingerless Mitts

~ My favourite fingerless mitt pattern works up quickly and easily.  It is a 2 needle pattern by Knit Picks and is done in a rib pattern of 3 k and 2 purl.  I’ve had this pattern for ages and it was free when I got it but now it is a paid pattern. The latest pair was made with yarn from The Grey Heron. It’s a lovely soft Opal yarn from Germany knit on 3.25 mm needles.  I probably only used 50 grams of the 100 gram ball.  When complete the mitts are seamed up the side.  They fit
