The gardens are fading away now it is October. With the weather change last weekend the nights have been much cooler and it is getting darker so much earlier. There have been a couple of nights when the frost has settled on the roofs and the ground. Thankfully the afternoons have been nice to finish up the un-decorating.

Some are Fading, Some are Blooming,
It’s that time of year in the gardening season when some plants are still blooming and many are fading away … some faster than others. The Fall blooms are appearing … sedum, mums, wild asters, garlic chives. The weather has been beautiful for the beginning of September … sunny, bright, a little bit of rain, cooler evenings, less humidity.

Ready or Not, Here It Comes
We have had the odd day that is warning us that Autumn is approaching. The nights are cooler and the daytime temperatures aren’t very high. There is still about 4 weeks left of summer on the calendar but there are signs the next season is slowly starting to creep in. The changes are subtle, but if you look you can see them. The shady front garden, seen in

The Gardens are “Scent”sational
It is so wonderful to walk around the garden this week. The scent of the lilacs, the lily of the valley and the honeysuckle is amazing. It is hard to choose what to show this week as there are lots of colourful blooms in all sorts of places. Enjoy the peek into my gardens.

Having a Blooming Good Time
That time of year that all gardeners wait for is happening right now … lots of gorgeous blooms appearing and amazing amounts of growth. It is hard to keep up with the garden these days as it seems every time I check something else has grown, produced buds or bloomed.
