“Boo”tiful Projects

~ Hallowe’en is a fun time for little children.  It’s a time for witches, ghosts, goblins and jack o’lanterns.  It is a great time of year to make some quick and easy projects.  So why not make some cute Hallowe’en projects for the kids or grandkids. In our family it is an extra special day as our little pumpkin was born on that day in 2009.  She wore her little knitted pumpkin hat I had made on the way home from the hospital.  She still has the hat and one of her dolls wears it now.  Big brother is now

‘Eye’m Looking at You

Last year I started creating some pumpkin heads for the garden.  I’m not in need of the traditional jack o’lantern anymore as we don’t get any trick or treaters at the door. But I decided that the Fall decorating should include some fun garden related pumpkins. ‘Eye’m looking at you! Meet Mr Bits & Pieces was made from some odds and ends I found on the tool bench.  This pumpkin head was easy to make by just pushing the bits (twigs,screws, washers, pvc pipe, a hose tap, and some cabinet fasteners) into the pumpkin.  I used an old bbq skewer to poke the

It Was A’maze’ing

Just before Hallowe’en we took the grandkids to a local farm to choose some pumpkins and we had an a’maze’ing time.  Willowcreek Farm always has a wonderful display at this time of the year. Throughout the summer months they have a roadside stand at the corner of our road where I buy most of my fresh veggies.  The actual farm is one concession over from ours and they also sell veggies from there as well. This is the farm that owns the fields behind our property along with their farm on the 5th concession.  For Hallowe’en they have a pumpkin patch
