Going Round in Circles

Categories: Crochet.

The idea had been mulling around in my mind for ages, time to think outside of the box (or square) and get into the round. I’ve been making crochet circles of different shapes and I’ve put them all together into my latest ‘purse’onality project. The rest of my crochet bags are either made with granny squares or stripes, so it was time for a change.  My bags are always lined, done at the end of the project.  This time I made the bag backwards, starting with the lining and the crochet strip that would hold it all together. Five Completions

Categories: Crochet, Knitting, and Plastic Canvas.

It sure feels good completing projects.  I always have a few on the go at once and sometimes it seems they all finish at the same time too. For Five on Friday this week here are five projects that are all finished.   I’ve just started a latch hook project, an embroidery project, and I’ve gone back to knitting some dishcloths. First is the blue bag that I started awhile ago, well actually it got started twice as I wasn’t happy with the first way it started.  The crochet has all been finished, the strap added and the bag has been

Crochet Projects on the Go

Categories: Books, Crochet, and Patterns.

Winter brings cold and stormy weather and not as much outside time, but it does mean more time for the hooks and needles to come out. It is hard to have just one project on the go, so here are a couple of yarn projects on the go this week. One will be another ‘purse’onality bag for my collection.  This is my favourite bag pattern and so easy to work on.  It doesn’t take much time to complete one of the squares needed to make the bag. To go with my new winter coat, this one is all black. This pattern is

Can You Have Too Much ‘Purse’onality?

Categories: Crochet.

I finished this bag in greys, white and black awhile ago. I love crochet bags and I now have quite a collection.  It seems when ever I want to use up yarn I end up making another bag. This pattern is for a bag made out of granny squares a few years ago.  It’s called Inga’s crocheted bag.  I just tweaked it a bit and took out the squares that formed the bottom.  In total you need 13 granny squares and then some yarn to join them together and made the straps.  It is great for using up odd bits and

Grey Shades of ‘Purse’onality

Categories: Crochet.

The Crafty Side of me has been busy since the weather turned cooler.  This is a project that I’ve had completed for a couple of weeks, just never got around to posting about it till now.  I have quite a collection of bags that have all been crocheted.  Black and grey have never been my choice of colours till recently.  It all started with a grey skirt I bought awhile ago. Which led to the purchase of a black and grey top … and then grey pants … and then a light grey sweater.  The reason for new clothes is

I Like ‘Purse’onality

Categories: Crochet.

As soon as it starts to cool down I start looking for some projects to make.  The skies are a little grey as the rain falls down and my crochet projects are a little grey too.  So far I’ve started two new bag patterns, both based on old favourites.  I don’t use any bags/purses that are store bought but have ones with a little ‘purse’onality.  I’ve also made many bags to give away as gifts.  One that just got started is a granny square bag in black, dark gray, light grey and white. I found this cute pattern for a
