‘Tree’mendous

On our trip to British Columbia in November 2011 we got to visit Cathedral Grove.  This is an absolutely amazing place to visit on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.  Cathedral Grove is located in MacMillan Provincial Park and it preserves a section of the old growth trees in the western rainforest.  There are massive Douglas Fir and Red Cedar trees, some as much as 800 years old.  On entering the forest a subtle quiet seems to overtake the noise from the road. We were fascinated by the moss that grows on the trees. Even the dead trees that are still standing
