12 Birds of Christmas

posted in: Birds, Christmas | 7

The 12 Days of Christmas song is always a favourite that is sung around Christmas time but the 12 days of Christmas actually starts on December 25 and runs through till January 5.

These photos are from my files and were taken at different times in the garden and down by the by bay.

On the first day of birding my camera snapped for me … a cardinal in a bare tree

and then continuing on … 2 swans a swimming

3 robins feeding

4 ducklings feeding

5 gold finches

6 cormorants perching

7 geese all lined up

8 sparrows eating

9 doves a resting

10 geese a flying

mallard ducks in winter on the Bay of Quinte

11 ducks a sitting

12 turkeys gobbling.

I’m sharing with I’d Rather B Birdin’ and Saturday’s Critters.

for the critters

This was my first rendition of the 12 days of Christmas, shared several years ago. It has been updated with a new format, corrected links, and updated images. My second rendition of the song appeared here last year.
