Shawls: Lean on Me

The asymmetrical shawl, Lean On Me, is a free pattern that is available on Ravelry.

It was crocheted with one skein of yarn. I used Loops & Threads Swirl yarn that had 524 yards or 479 metres of lovely soft yarn. This yarn is reasonable priced and if you use a coupon from Michaels it is an even better price. There are other options to use, in fact lots of them.

I used a 5mm crochet hook and the pattern worked up easily and quickly. As you work the shawl it gradually gets wider, like a right angle triangle shape.

This isn’t a full sized shawl, but can be used as a cozy scarf or shawlette. This is another item for my gift giving and I’ll be making some more of these in various colours.

    Linda,
Thank you so much for telling about this pattern. I have been thinking I would like something to put over my shoulders when I set outside in the evening. I needed something to do as I am getting tired of reading all the time. I have gotten quilt blocks out that I need to put together and will work on that also.

It is so hot here so suppose to get up in the 90’s today. I get my outside work done early in the morning.

I know I will not need the shawl for awhile but will be nice to be doing something useful.
    Have a good day.

This is a nice light shawl Vondean, and you can make it bigger if you wish just by continuing on with the rows. It’s very hot and humid here too, I watered this morning, but think the heat has got to some of the plants. Have a lovely day.

What a lovely shawl and what a beautiful gift for someone. You are very good starting your gift making already I should really do the same. Xx

It seems strange making shawls and scarves when it is so hot, but at least I’ll be ready for the colder weather. It has been really hot and humid here, can’t really be outside for very long. Have a great day.

Linda, I love coming in and seeing what you are doing next and I have seen quite a few of the shawls you have done along with many other items you have crocheted or knit. Have a good day. We didn’t get the rain and we need some now.

No rain for us either Myrt, but it keeps threatening. This morning it is quite cloudy so perhaps this afternoon it will rain.

It’s very hot and humid here Deb, waiting for it to break this weekend. It is so hot that each morning the windows are covered in condensation outside. We had lots of rain in July, but August hasn’t seen much so far. I watered the veggies this morning, but think the heat has got to some of them. Lots of tomatoes to pick. Have a lovely day, stay cool.
