Off the Needles

I recently finished a couple more knitting projects. That means it is time to find another project to make. Well, I have a list that is quite long, so guess it is a matter of deciding what will I make next.

Awhile ago I mastered knitting my socks on two circular needles instead of four dpns. I’ll never switch back.

The lastest socks were finished just in time for the cool weather that is setting in. I love to knit tube socks as they fit all sizes. You can find the pattern here.

A knitted neck warmer was also completed. This one was done in grey Red Heart Comfort yarn on 5.5 mm needles. I used my pattern, found here, given to me by my mother in law over 35 years ago.

I did track down the source of the original pattern to here and have decided that the pattern given to me was a modified version of this one.

white is the original pattern, grey is my pattern

A comparison of the finished items show mine is slightly smaller. Both fit really well. Of course the needle size and yarn thickness also determine the size of the finished item.

Two buttons and crochet loops were added to fasten the neckwarmer. You can wear it fastened at the back or front, whatever your choice.

Now we are into Novem-brrr it’s time to wear scarves. Do you have a favourite?

I love your socks and neck warmer, I have just started knitting a pair of socks too but I have never knit tube socks I bet they are nice and easy and you won’t have to turn the heel which is the only part of sock making I don’t enjoy so thank you for the pattern I’ll have to try it. I’ll be checking out all the other patterns too. 🙂

I can knit the heels in socks, but started on the tube sock pattern a few years ago when I was doing socks for gifts and didn’t really know the correct sizes for people. They knit up faster too.

Love seeing all your knitted or crocheted items. I was a knitter but for some unknown reason, I stopped enjoying it. I have knit lots of socks but never tube and on circular needles. Do you remember knitting a circular cushion covers Linda? That takes me back to a young girl learning to knit.

I don’t remember the circular cushion Myrt, but I’m not a fan of any cushions so perhaps that is way. Did you sign up for the new email updates as the other program was unreliable. I can add your email and you will just need to verify it, let me know.
