~
A little bit of snow arrived overnight. First snow is always special, so it was grab the camera and take some photos through the windows and open doors about 6:30 am this morning. This snow won’t stay around long, in fact it is already melting away.
The Stumpys stay outside all winter as I love to take photos of them and they add lots of winter interest to the gardens.
The Stumpys were made with tree stumps, mostly collected from the yard waste landfill and faces from various dollar stores. I always add a hat, usually a flower pot to give them more personi’tree’.
These two Stumpys were photographed through the deck railings as they sit in the windmill garden. The one of the piece of wood is on the mail box feeder post and whenever the squirrel decided to try to get into the mailbox feeder he knocked off a piece of the face. So I glued the face onto a piece of wood and then screwed it onto the post.
This stumpy sits at the end of the path by the garage and just look at the big icicle hanging from his hat.
Snow always sucks the colour out of the photos and even though these were taken in colour they look like they were taken in black and white. There is the odd bit of green in the photos. Mostly leaves that have fallen to the ground as the majority of the trees are bare.
I’m sure I’ll be taking lots more photos of the Stumpys in the snow. Have you had your first snow yet?
I’m sharing with Mosaic Monday.

The first snow is always so pretty! Not so much when the hubby has to drive to work and they haven’t salted!
Have a good day.

Your snowy stumps made me smile, Linda. We had a light dusting a few weeks ago.

Cute photos. Your Stumpys are adorable! The first snow is indeed very special. We were out and about today, and commenting on how pretty everything looked with the layer of snow.

Having grown up in Southern California snow is a special treat for me. For Wayne who grew up in Upstate New York, not so much. – Margy

We will have a lot of stumps at our new log home, so I am inspired by your Stumpys! We have had close to a foot of snow over a couple of weeks, but it has all melted now. I like snow, so I hope it gets cold again!

The first snowfall is always exciting especially for us in Normandy as it doesn’t snow in our area every year. The stumpys don’t seem to mind the snow at all, they look quite relaxed about their new look in fact!
Thanks for joining in with MM again this week, it’s always a pleasure to read about life down your way.

Lovely first snow pics, so charming. Winter always looks better to me in someone else’s pics. LOL. Our snow actually hung around a couple of days before it warmed up enough to melt. Last Sunday wasn’t fun, no salt or sand down anywhere. Roads were fine, but not sidewalks. So I’d rather look at your pics. :-)
Wishing you a wonderful holiday season and safe travels. Take care.
